So, this just happened 🐝🐝🐝 Today, I have a doctors appointment in town. For many of you, town is a “quick trip”. For us, it’s over an hour. I hoped into the truck waiting for Mr. Misty and glance toward the garden area and out of the corner of my eye I see bees swirling in the air, which could only mean one thing... SWARM! Swarms normally occur In the spring to early summer, so to have one this late in the season is a bit odd, but this bee season has been an odd one, to say the least. We have beek friends, in town, who, because of a lack of rain fall during critical plant growing times, will not be harvesting any honey and they may even need to supplement their bees with feed as there wasn’t, due to lack of rain, enough in bloom for the bees to forage on. Like I mentioned before, town is an hour away. It is also at a lower elevation than we are. While haven’t experienced the dearth in forage, our season definitely got off to a late start. And, maybe that’s why we are still getting some swarms. 🐝🐝🐝If you’re curious about our swarm and how we captured it, check out our stories, today! #beeslifeforme #whybeewhy #itsabeekeeperthing #aswarminghiveisadocilehive #beesofmtrainier #mtrainier #beekeeperequalsfarmerpluscrazy #bkpr @tapcombhive @mannlakeltd @glorybeefoods
