Latest work on Beetle Deer from my Nanomagic world! I’m trying my hardest to replicate human joints with exoskeletons. Every couple years, they molt and regrow everything, so it’s not nearly as bad if they lose a hand or something. They have eyeballs Under a hard cover, and they can alter the shape of their pupil.

Doby is a rich farming country due to its swinging seasonal temperature. The beetle deer who live there are short, stocky, and usually have antlers that branch into two. Both males and females have fur, and they have their houses underground. They have good rapport with many other countries for trading ther food.

Beetle deer live in a world with Victorian era agriculture, so they try to fatten up just before molts so as to have a big skeleton for the next year. It’s not very practical, though
