They are from the family of scarabs and the order of Coleoptera (beetles!)
They have a complete metamorphosis, going from an itty bitty baby egg, to a very cute little worm who eats grass and roots, to a pupa then they become the beautiful adult that you normally see!!!!
They truly are beautiful creatures and i wish to learn EVEN MORE ABOUT THEM!!!

so because i am like fully hyperfixating on pokemon again, have these three random-ass beetles that were named by a huge Pokemon fan scientist: binburrum articuno, binburrum zapdos and binburrum moltres.
do they look like the legendary birds, you ask? no! in fact they couldn't look less legendary! Yun Hsiao however - the person who named them - is pretty iconic. He also names weevils after Digimon, so like... yeah anyway you can follow him over on Twitter if you want.
