Philemon (Cutscene 4) - Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (by ken12012)
A test?
State his name?
What happened?
He held onto his head as it ached, trying to recall the events of the previous day.
"Hey Mom! I'm going down to the shooting range to meet the guys!" He yelled out as he grabbed his black Nike rubber shoes from the rack and slipped them on his feet. Grabbing the ends of the left shoe's lace, he began to tie it.
"Criss Cross and go under the bridge. Then you got to pull it tight. Make a loop but keep a long tail. That is how to do it right. Then you take the other string and you wrap it around the loop. Pull-"
"-it through the hole. Now you got the scoop." His mother ended as she covered her mouth with her right hand, her left going across her stomach. Her eyes smiling at his antics.
His eyes widened as he heard her sing the last lines of the children's rhyme. He quickly stood up, his face flushed red with color at having been caught.
"Moooom!" He whined in Korean, his hands balled into fists. "How long have you been there?"
"Long enough." She laughed, smiling.
He grumbled about sneaky spy mothers and her own nagging intuition as he continued to blush profusely. He sat back down and began to tie the other shoe. His mother's giggling laughter awakening his indignation.
"You still sing that song?" She asked of him as she leaned her shoulder against the wall. Her concoction of a breakfast which oozed brown liquid and bubbling greasy eggs already forgotten.
"Well... Yeah." He answered simply, knotting the two loops of his shoe lace together.
"I like the song."
She shook her head at him, still smiling.
"You can be such a child at times."
"Guess I'm a bit of a Fool huh?" He answered playfully back as he stood up once more, turning around and meeting her gaze.
"Yes... My little Fool." She said as she cupped his face with her hands. "My Jung Yoonhak."
"Mooom! Please." He whined.
He snapped his eyes open. Philemon still waiting patiently, silently for his answer.
"Yoonhak. Jung Yoonhak."
Philemon smiled.
