Beforus HC Trolls still invade other planets, but it's so they can "take care of the defenseless aliens owo" because OBVIOUSLY they don't know the ways of PROPER culture we need to help them too! And of course, since we're being so kind and taking care of them, they should be thankful and give us the resources to help more people, right? I mean, it's what's best for everyone.

Sounds like cultural imperialism/paternalism/whatever the fuck else an Empress like Feferi would use as an explanation that would excuse them invading other worlds, gutting their culture, taking their resources, and exploiting them for the sake of the homeworld cause how else are those poor things going to know how to be proper civilized beings?

Alright this is going to be a long post

JOHN:Headcanon A (what is realistic): He uses his Breath powers to inconvenience and prank all the other kids/surviving trolls

Headcanon B (what I think is hilarious): The boy has no idea how to Sport. Jake tried to play Sports™ with him on Earth C and he took a soccer ball to the nose. Now he has a crooked nose.

Headcanon C (what is heart-crushing): On Earth C, he couldn’t handle the fact that everyone else (besides Roxy) wasn’t from his true timeline and he left. Eventually getting absorbed into the Furthest Ring and the HorrorTerrors. I have a story about this if anyone cares.

Headcanon D (What would never work in canon): He gets some help for his problems. Especially the timeline thing, let the boy have his happiness.

MEENAH:Headcanon A (what is realistic): She was raised by her ancestor (the empress) on Beforus and never had a lusus.

Headcanon B (what I think is hilarious): She once tagged the wall of the palace in spray paint with another could-be heiress.

Headcanon C (what is heart-crushing): I have so fucking many but I’ll put down my favorite. Sea-dweller gills are naturally feathery like betta fish fins, but Meenah’s, aren’t. That’s her ancestor-lusus had them shorn off for appearances and rendered useless. She can no longer breath underwater (minus the dream bubbles)

Headcanon D (what would never work in canon): She likes Kankri and Kankri likes her back I have my guilt ships. But on another note, tattoos and piercings, lots of them.

Beforus Eridan and Humans

@arkytior-foreman and I have been thinking about what Beforus Eridan would have actually been like, specifically when meeting humans. Unfortunately we know practically nothing about the Beforus ancestors or way of life, but fortunately that gives us quite a bit of wiggle room.

- I remember seeing a post about how lowbloods were treated as pets on Beforus, barely allowed to do anything for themselves. Humans, being the lowest on the Hemospectrum, and Eridan, being closest to Feferi, would of course coddle literally any human

- Due to not having to kill lusii since he could hold a gun, he was probably at least a bit nicer towards others.

- Being a scientist, he would want to know every little thing about humans, always asking questions, and weirding out some humans in the process

- One conversation would almost certainly go like this:  Eridan: so wwhat you're tellin me is, you all havve the same blood colour? Human: Yes? Eridan, scribbling on a note pad: fascinatin’.

- Speaking of which he would always have a notepad and a writing utensil with him at all times, ready to write down anything new he learns.

- He probably be too interested in how strange humans are he'd never have anything more than a platonic relationship with one.

-  Or he would form a romantic relationship, but by the time he realized what exactly he'd gotten himself into, it's way too late and he's horns over boot heels for them.

- And he would believe damn-near anything he was told about humans. 

-  But the thing is, when humans tried to mess with him, it was stuff that was actually normal for trolls. Human: When we reach a certain age, our eyes change colour. Eridan: Oh, that happens to us too. Human: Wait what?

- He will binge-watch any sci-fi show or movie with you, as long as your couch is big enough to support him

- He will never not be baffled by how strange humans are.

Quadrant smearing and non-quadrant relationships were more common on Beforus than Alternia, but they were looked down on as immoral and thus usually kept quiet

I could see that going on~ There definitely would’ve been societal differences that alloted for different types of relationships to flourish better.

On Alternia, you HAVE to keep your quadrants strictly in line. Know specifically who’s going to fill a filial pail with you so you both can escape death by drones. Plus the fact that they’re so societally pragmatic meaning that they’d wanna focus the masses on breeding more soldiers for the imperial machine.

While on Beforus, it would be more a social etiquette thing. You find someone you love, and you love them in a certain way outside the norm. But in such a large and judgemental society, people are going to side eye you. Vacillation is fine, it happens to everyone. But if you’re smearing pale and red, or black and red, or god knows whatever other depravity you get up to, every which way there is, you’re going to get some unhappy staring until you stop making everyone so uncomfortable with your blatant displays. Keep that shit at home. (Also something something quadrant slut, something something jealous highbloods)

Random headcanon that on Beforus, the pinnacle of sea dweller fashion usually consisted of basically very fancy silks and light clothing over essentially swimsuits.

You’ve got sea dweller ladies showing up to big fancy balls in dresses made of chiffon lined with silk where you could see their fancy bikinis through them. You’ve got guys wearing essentially wearing sarongs and capes over a pair of skintight trunks and calling it haute couture.

Excellent for looking fancy, showing off their ‘perfect’ superior bods, and easy to cast off to some servant to send it to their on land storage rooms so they wouldn’t get ruined by salt water when they swam home.
