today i sketched anthus in various traditional clothing again
4/5 of which are from north borneo ofc
1) hanbok in a mini-dallyeongpo* jacket! starting to be obsessed w the east asian circular collars tbh lol
inspired by the recent hanbok-inspired sk school uniforms, i never knew if they actually were picked up by sk schools:
*i misspelt dallyeongpo as dallyangpo in the image but honestly my handwriting is ugly enough no one would even realize
2) traditional clothing of the sungai tombonuo people!
personally i think the full skirt makes them stand out even among other bornean groups in general:
3) traditional begak clothing
love their sarong paterns
4) kayab of the dusun (tindal) of kg. sayap, kota belud
cape sleeves are sooo underrated. because i said so
5) and ofc the abaya of the bundu dusun
ft that one sarong tie style you’d see grandmas wear on their heads to the paddy fields but idk how to draw that on the head of a cartoon cat. the abaya made me realize how quintessential the kebaya is to maritime southeast asia
