Hello! This is my first post so I’d thought I’d share my personal black salt recipe!

For those who don’t know, black salt is a super protective ingredient to use in spell work or just to own as warding in general. It’s something that every witch should have in handy, and the best part is that it’s super easy to make.

☆Ingredients (all equal parts!)☆

~regular or sea salt

~charcoal (I personally sourced my charcoal from a fire pit, but if you don’t have access to one, you can usually source activated charcoal from your nearest drug store or if your an artist you can use sketching charcoal as well. Just remember to always cleanse the items, especially if you sourced it from a big corp.)

~black pepper

~incense ash (if you don’t already save your incense ash you absolutely should. It’s very useful and can be used as a booster in your spell work)

☆Instructions☆

I highly recommend using either a bowl, a cauldron, or if you have it a mortar and pestle. I used a cauldron that I actually recycled from a target candle.

1. Cleanse what you will use for storage and what ever mixing tools you’ll be using. I personally used dragons blood incense, but I tend personally find that any kind of incense works and smoke tends to usually be a cleansing tool. Dragons blood at least from my experience tends to give more of a kick to whatever item I am creating for my spell work.

2. Combine your salt, incense ash, black pepper, and charcoal into your mixing bowl and combine clock wise and counter clock wise. If you’re feeling fancy repeat protective affirmations, such as “I am protected” or “I am guarded”, either out loud or in your head. I ended up using the end of a large screwdriver and the butt of the biggest shot glass that I own to really grind down everything into a fine powder. Keep on mixing until you are satisfied.

3. Transfer your black salt to your storage making as little of a mess as possible, and I unfortunately know this from experience, but it can get messy quick. I highly suggest using a funnel or folding a peice of paper as one while doing this.
