Player’s Friday: Making a Barbarian

A day late but better late than never.

What is a Barbarian? 

One who is in touch with nature and doesn’t see pros to being part of civilization.  They want to charge into battle and act exactly how you think a Barbarian would act.

Proficiency Bonus, as with all characters, starts at +2.  

Hit Dice: 1d12

Hit Points for the first level: 12+Constitution Modifier

You have Proficiency in Light/Medium Armor, Shields, Simple Weapons, martial weapons

You have proficiencies in your Strength and Constitution saving throws and you can choose two of the following skills: Animal Handling, Athletics, Intimidation, Nature, Perception, and Survival.

Equipment: 

A Greataxe or any martial melee weapon

Two handaxes or any simple weapons

An explorer’s pack and 4 javelins

Rage: You can do this as a Bonus Action.  While in raging mode (when you’re not wearing heavy armor), you have advantage on strength saving throws and checks, you gain a bonus to melee attacks (+2, this increases with each level), and you have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.  You are unable to cast spells while raging.  This lasts for one minute.  It will end if you are knocked unconscious or if you haven’t been attacked or haven’t attacked anything since the end of your last turn.  You can rage 2 times but then you must complete a long rest before you can rage again.

When you aren’t wearing any armor, your AC equals 10+Dexterity Modifier+Constitution Modifier.  You are still able to use your shield and still use this ability.

D&D was today and it was chaotic because my character ate a Kobold (He’s a Leonin) while we were trapped in this dark room with me being the only one who can see in the dark and walk fast while also having bigger strength and he felt hungry so he decided to devour the kobold. Literally before that Praxis had pounced another Kobold to death by squashing him. I don’t know I think he hates Kobolds but hey I scared off the rest of them and we got through the trial, sadly we now have to face the giant rabbit Goliath
