"She died doing what she loved: wanting to die."

I've recently discovered that any anxiety I have comes from not living in the moment. Dwelling on the past, overanalyzing it, resenting it. Worrying about the future, hoping too much, fearing it. So much anxiety is over things we can't control - time, circumstance, what other people think. And for what - THINGS WE DON'T KNOW. What a waste of time! Once I finally let go of these things, I could finally appreciate what's right in front of me. I don't want to miss out on all the cool things in front of me anymore - the people I love, the blue sky, good smells, delicious food. I bet if you spent today not worrying about shit or looking down at your phone, you'll see not only some beautiful things, but some hilarious things as well. Like, the other day, I saw a man with a triple-decker ponytail and bluetooth headset pull up to a gas pump with the wrong side of his car. He yelled, "God dammit!" and proceeded to struggle to bring the pump to the other side, anyway. Basically - don't waste your time thinking bad thoughts because bad thoughts make you feel bad. Think good thoughts because good thoughts make you feel good. And why shouldn't you feel good while you're alive? We're all going to die. So you can let go of that one.
