Thinking up a BB au where Karina picks up and takes Hal (and maybe Thorn?) off to Araluen back to her family instead of staying. Fifteen years later, the relationship between Araluen and Skandia has deteriorated to the point of outright war, and Hal Foster is serving as an archer in the army when he's captured by a lone Skandian called Stig who's trying to win glory in battle to salvage his family's reputation, tainted by his father. Things Ensue
