Trying to start my morning better than I usually do. Starting with actually eating breakfast.
I don’t eat nearly as much as I used to, but, that’s a good thing considering every meal I could have shut down an all you can eat buffet. Today’s breakfast is pretty simple, sourdough with 1/4 mashed avocado, mushrooms, and two eggs accompanied by my usual cup of coffee. (New cup courtesy @negan-is-god-unlocked ) I’m planning on getting in a Centr work out later and getting more Christmas decorations put away.
🚶🏾♀️🍑Steps and Squats
9500 steps today and 3rd day of squat challenge done. I'm going to do yoga tomorrow. Looking forward to getting back into it as I really enjoy yoga and feel alot better and stronger after.
i’ve been avoiding short form content when i can lately, because i’ve been noticing being on a device constantly isn’t great for life quality stuff. i still use my phone to listen to music, and reading, but i’m trying to avoid short videos and stuff.
i did a double post today because i had one end up being more sorta dark, if it can even be called that, so i wanted to make a second one to balance it out. when i talk about certain stuff, it’s nearly always something i’ve experienced, like falling, or sometimes an example of stuff.
i want to try exercising, because i’m a pretty sedentary person, and i lie down or sit down almost all the time. i think part of that is my body not liking being active, and hurting when i’m up too much, but i’m also pretty lazy when i’m distracted. i’m trying to be more healthy i guess.
i don’t remember how to fold a shirt lowkey so i’ve been folding my laundry in a weird way. i fold the sleeves onto the back, fold up the bottom half onto the front, and fold it twice or three times, to make it compact, while showing the collar if there is one. it’s just what popped into my mind, and i don’t think i have the girl scout book in my house anywhere. must’ve lost it in the move or something. hope i can figure it out some time so i can fold my clothes better.
It’s been well over a year since I did any sort of offering to my gods. It may be longer given all the situations these past couple years. I couldn’t tell you why I stopped. I would like to say it was my depression but that’s not exactly right. It may be an amalgam of various ingredients.
Then today when I finally clawed my way out of bed, I said I was going to do a morning ritual. As I brewed my morning coffee I snatched up a candle I’d gotten for the holidays and my deck of cards. Then as I sat down I invited Vela to join me.
I wasn’t sure where to go after that. Vela whispered at me, reassuringly, “go ahead”
As I lit the candle I did a prayer for Wolf King’s safe journey home as I recovered. It wasn’t much but seemed right. I the. Offered what I had, coffee and a banana (I can’t eat much in the morning, so this is what I had). Vela does not enjoy coffee but the offerings weren’t for Them. It was for my beloved King.
To end the small ritual I drew some cards with Vela. It had been awhile since I drew cards for myself. So it took a bit of work and some instruction from Vela. The cards that laid before me were ones that kind of called me out. It was a healthy call out. One I needed to hear and prompt me to move forward.
It told me I should be more active in my community I’d found. That I was holding back. I have to say…. I am. I have reservations because of trauma from an old group of friends (they are a lovely group of individuals and it’s all my own past that keeps me back). I am afraid that what happened there will happen again. But I realized Wolf King helped me out of that old group because they were hurting me. He wouldn’t lead me to another only for it to happen again. I am safe. I trust in Him.
There is still a lot of baggage there left to unpack, in what those old friends did. But this mornings ritual was a good start in a road to recover. Thank you, my gods.
feelin’ like i’m about to drop an indie-pop sad girl album
I did something productive today
