Drabble request to stretch the writing limbs! Caroline drags Klaus to a carnival and they get a little frisky in the tunnel of loooOooOoove. <3
A/N: soooooo I tweaked the prompt a tad! enjoy!
Caroline wasn’t sure if she was annoyed or amused.
The tri-county area carnival was going on, and it was something Caroline had always gone solo to (with Elena and her various suitors. Of course.), but this year was different. Whether that was a good thing had yet to be determined.
On one hand, she loved a challenge, but when it came to Klaus and his methodology...
“You want a more normal relationship? Alright. Your wish is my command.”
Naturally, getting her way sent Caroline over the moon, but after a few days of playing at a normal supernatural relationship, she was beyond bored. And it frustrated her that Klaus knew that and wouldn’t budge, insistent on giving her what she wanted while also teaching her a lesson.
After the sixth bouquet of roses and the second dinner-and-a-movie date, she missed the tense meetings and extravagant locales he’d take her too solely because he felt that she needed authentic coq a vin right that instant.
Still, he was holding her hand as they waited in line for the tunnel of love- which she seriously could not imagine Klaus doing. At all.
“We’re next,” he whispered close to her ear, moving forward to hand the carnie their tickets.
A few moments later, her and Klaus were creaking their way beneath the entrance of the heart-shaped tunnel in a large metal swan-boat covered and rust and something she couldn’t identify: it was backwoods romance at it’s finest that made Caroline rue her enhanced vision.
Klaus slipped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer. “Are you enjoying yourself?”
“No.” She blurted before realizing how unhappy she sounded. “I mean... I get it. We can’t do things like this. You’ve made your point, and I appreciate that you made the effort to show me what I really want.”
Chuckling, his other hand crept into her lap, skirting beneath the hem of her dress. The pads of his fingers ghosted along her inner thighs, hitching her breath.
“Is that so?” Voice a purr, Klaus nipped the spot below her ear that a few years ago would have been thumping steadily in reaction to his touch.
Unconsciously spreading her legs a little wider, Caroline swallowed, thinking back to that one time in the chunnel where, with two fingers, kept her on the brink of orgasm until they crossed from England to France. “Yes,” she gasped, fighting to keep her composure, “we aren’t the country fair time.”
Her center throbbed when his trailed his thumb along the fabric of her underwear, sending her into full blown arousal, her hips tightening with the urge to thrust forward and capture more of the sensation.
“Well then...” Klaus trailed off, removing his hand and sitting back in the ride. “I believe we’re done here after the ride is over, yes?”
An frustrated sigh flew from her lips and she crossed her arms, glaring at the dumb cherubs hanging from the ceiling of he tunnel.
“Are you happy you won?” When his only answer was a smug grin, she turned to face him, now desperately turned on and ready to get out of this place so they could fuck. “Do I get a consolation prize, at the very least? This is a fair after all.”
“And what did you have in mind?” He quiered, shooting her a sideways glance as the swan moved around the corner and out of the tunnel.
Standing up, she shrugged, feigning nonchalance. “I can’t decide if I want to go to England or France...”
He paused for the briefest of moments as he followed her out of the attraction, and Caroline could feel his mind making the connection. “We will just have to start at one end,” his hand brushed through her air, “and work our way to the other,” and glided down her neck and spine until he cupped her ass.
“I find that to be very appropriate,” she agreed, all but ready to burst from excitement: while Klaus was focused on the two hour ride between the two destinations, Caroline was thinking about the eight hour flight they had, and all of the ways she could get him back.
As they left the fairgrounds, Caroline took one last look at the neon lights and whirling rides. It all looked so temporary, and she finally realized that what she wanted wouldn’t fit that kind of life anymore.
Smiling, they walked hand in hand back to the car.
