The Beginning

This week, I’ve started my journey as a Citygirl Event Intern in my favorite Chicago neighborhood - Lincoln Park.

It’s cliche, but words cannot express how excited I am to learn the inner workings of events and experience all the city has to offer in this industry.

I’m pretty naive when it comes to event production and design - ever since I started school, I’ve been focusing on the business side of things. During this internship, I’m hoping to mix things up and let myself get creative - which is one of the reasons I was drawn to Citygirl in the first place. Their wedding and event design and planning options really impressed me, and I wanted to see the behind-the-scenes.

After taking an events class at Columbia, I feel this internship will fit into what I’ve already learned and take it a few steps further. This opportunity will make me well-rounded in an industry I’ve already learned a little bit about.
