@bekaito is someone entirely new. honestly, jay had kind of forgotten about him—then again, his memory only allows him to remember a few people at a time usually. he hadn't gotten the opportunity to interact with kaito much throughout next gen. up until now, that is. and kaito hadn't done anything... jarring(?) noteworthy(?) enough to cement himself in jay's loaded brain.
but he learned that group chemistry is super important when it comes to performances, he thinks it's even more significant when it comes to teen crush concepts like these. if they're going to compete for one girl's hand, they should probably cook up some sort of rivalry too between each other right?
"have you thought about what cool thing you want to do to impress the popular cheerleader?" he asks, humming the song to himself while he strikes up a conversation with someone new. "actually, do you think i look nerdy enough as is?" he follows up the question with another one, his brain easily jumping from topic to topic.
oily.
all things considered, getting a scholarship and studying overseas from his home country is a sort of privilege not many people receive. so in that regard, touma is grateful—but he can't lie and say he isn't homesick. the most obvious thing is the fact that he misses his younger brother back home ( on top of being worried over how he's doing too, but if he ponders over that for too long there would be no end to it ).
obviously he can't expect korea to be like japan, that would be insensitive of him and downright delusional. there are days where he misses his 'old' life though, and in those days he finds himself scurrying into @bekaito's apartment in a sort of hurry. they've known each other for a while—years, to be more specific—their first meeting being in one of touma's solo adventures to akihabara. it's funny that he's reuniting with the other boy in korea too, but he's not complaining. the more the merrier.
the reason why touma ends up frequenting kaito's apartment is because of the many local japanese snacks stashed in kaito's humble abode, followed by kaito's collection of manga that touma hasn't even finished surveying. it's a cozy place too, and kaito makes good company. the only problem here being kaito's roommate, who seems to be a terrible person to live with. hey, maybe they're okay as an individual—but touma would not want to share the same space with them.
when touma arrives it looks like he just barely missed said roommate, judging from the way kaito looks displeased. "uh oh, you look unhappy," touma points out. he looks behind kaito, slight curious as to what happened this time. "don't tell me your roommate did something again?" even after all this time, the name of kaito's roommate still slipped past his mind.
"did they get their grubby hands on one of your manga again?" he asks, a bit more specific in his line of questioning now.
