I know very little about GoT, but how do your si and Jaime prefer to snuggle? Are they cat people or dog people? Who said I love you first? Are they early risers or do they sleep in? What was their first fight about?
The early days of Jaime and Bel's actual courtship are.... unconventional, to say the least.
Prior to courting, they had each held the other prisoner in some way or another, gone separate ways, only to reconvene sometime later and fall madly in love. They have both seen the other grieve desperately, and, only after fighting the army of the dead, did they have the good sense to court, for a short time at least, before marrying. During which, they had far more sex than most couples at that stage, or would spend evenings in each other's quiet company as they tried to reconcile the past of their families and houses with what they know now.
All that to say, dear friend, is that it is Marybel, the proud, and eldest living Stark, that first admits her feelings for the wounded lion, through a drunken haze of wine, only to fall unconscious in his arms and wake in his bed with no recollection of this admission.
As one might suspect, they are each partial to the beast of their birth houses, though Jaime isn't much for either cat nor dog, he would find himself choosing cats, where Bel will always have a soft spot for hounds, especially Echo.
After everything they have both gone through, they both tend to cling when cuddling. Bel likes to keep her arms wrapped around his head and shoulders, pressing him to he chest, as close to her heart as possible, with her nose in his hair. That beautiful, gold, Lannister hair that she once despised for all it represented. Jamie prefers it this way, too. Hearing each beat of her heart, his arms secured around her waist, able to tilt his head back and look up at her in awe, like a man in prayer.
In the early days of courtship and marriage, they would spend whole days wrapped in each other like this.
Jaime rises with the sun, after years of training regiments and routine, it's become habit, ingrained so deeply in him he wouldn't even know where to begin trying to change it now. While Marybel, despite her mother's efforts to change it, has always been a night owl, often finding sleep closer to the hour of the Wolf than the Bat or Eel.
Their first fight, after everything had happened- her father's death, her mother's death, Robb and Rickon's deaths, Daenerys's attack on King's Landing, their battle against the army of the dead- was about her, and how she loved him, and how her parents would be disgusted that she chose- of all people- to love a Lannister.
It started one day when he found her packing her things, muttering about how she can't love him. She just can't, not after everything.
And, as he tried to talk her into staying she simply became more and more upset, screaming and crying that her mother and father would disown her, that Robb, her brother she had so adored, would loath her for loving a man from the family that murdered them all.
The way he then asked her if that was all she saw him as broke her further, and she sank to the floor, sobbing into her hands x the shame and self-hatred at her predicament beginning to consume her until he sat beside her and pulled her onto his lap, holding her until she calmed and was able to listen to reason again.
“I’m a certified genius, I’m the daughter of Tony Stark, Granddaughter of Howard Stark one of the greatest inventors of all time. I also rock pink nails and mini-skirts. Do not mistake my fashion sense for weakness.”
Loving the Jaime content!!! Do you want to talk about some of their firsts? First kiss and first secret shared between the two of them might be interesting! Any ideas about the first ‘I love you’?
Thank you!!! Ah! I love him so much!
So I have actually written their first kiss, and that fic should be out.... soon? But I will say, It wasn't exactly a pleasant affair, for reasons of, it wasn't long after he had his hand cut off and it was just foul tasting.
Their first secret would be between Brienne as well, when they return to King's Landing to trade him for Sansa. They realized Bel couldn't enter the City with everything going on- not as a Stark, at least, so Jaime actually apologizes before beating her face a few times to slightly disfigured her, and they say that she is Brienne's hand maiden while they are there.
Cersei and Joffrey are too preoccupied with Margaery to look too hard at some Lord's daughter's hand maid, and Tywain had never met her before. Little finger is too wrapped up in himself and Sansa to recognize her, it helps that she pulled a lot of Stark traits, not Tulley. That being said, Sansa recognizes her, as well as Tyrion and Varys. Thankfully, they don't see a point in revealing her.
Their first "I Love You" Was years later.
King's Landing had been nearly destroyed by Daenerys during Margaery's trial (giving her a chance at escape).
Jaime was trying to get Cersei out of the Keep when a staircase collapsed beneath them, he would have died with her if Bel hadn't yanked him back.
They manage to get Tommen out of the city while Jon... deals with Daeny, after her mental break.
They leave Varys as Regent while Tommen and Margaery recover from the attack and their own injuries at Casterly Rock with Bel, Jaime, and Tyrian, while they bolster the Lannister forces to march North.
Jaime is in a near catatonic funk for a good while, and Bel does her best to help. One night she holds his hand and tells him, "I know you loved her, and I'm sorry you lost her, but I respect you too much to lie and say that I'm sorry she's gone."
Which oddly makes him feel a little better.
They spend a month in his childhood home, and, while his feelings on the matter are complicated, he begins to see her in an almost more affectionate light. Especially after she spends hours in a bath and she comes bouncing out in a robe, grinning because "Water stays warmer for so much longer down here!"
But it's not until they've traveled back to Winterfell and face death in the morning that he pulls her away from the party. He cups her cheeks, as best he can with his gold hand, his flesh thumb running along her cheekbone as he finally admits, "Marybel Stark, I'm telling you now, since we may both be dead tomorrow. I need you to know. I love you."
If someone flirted with or showed an interest in their S/O, how would the other react?
Jaime is the more romantic of the two. He has been a romantic all his life, and, with Bel, he's finally able to be open about it.
He loves holding her hand, treating her to candlelit dinners, and walking down the beaches below Casterly Rock with her. He loves showing her he loves her, even around other people- especially around other people, since his past experiences denied him that.
As long as Bel has known him, women have fantasized about Jaime Lannister, and she knows better than to get jealous when he flashes that charming smile toward the unwanted advances of a fan. But, if he happens to get swarmed by older women, well, older than her, at least, she makes a point to fight her way closer and steal his attention away. It's not hard when the only woman he has eyes for is her.
Jaime is the complete opposite. After having to share his last love with another man, and, seeing as Bel is so much younger than him, (which, leads him to expect her to realize she would rather a man closer to her own age) he feels an urge to step in when he sees someone showing interest in his wife.
This usually entails him coming closer, putting his hand in her in some way, and interjecting himself into the conversation.
At first, she found the interruptions annoying but has come to realize it as a plea for reassurance, and she gladly indulges him that.
all this begs the question: is Bel there for Jaime's whole bathtime speech? I would love to see how she parses with that knowing all she would have known about the kingslaying from Ned's perspective growing up...
God, yeah.
The whole thing starts a bit flirty, where Brienne curls to hide when Jaime comes closer, Bel is sat on the edge of the bath, bare and damp, brushing her fingers through her hair. She doesn't miss the way he looks at her as he sinks into the warm water.
As he speaks of why he killed the mad king, her stomach twists, she had never heard this story- not really. Her father had told her of what he saw, what he experienced the day they took King's Landing, but this? Knowing such a thing had been asked of him, and the unknown threat to the entire capital, nobility and small-folk alike. Why had he not said? With the whole of Westeros whispering behind his back- why had he never spoken up or explained to anyone?
"You think the honorable Ned Stark wanted to hear my side?"
She feels sick at his words. The contempt and venom toward her father. This is not the the Jaime Lannister's she thought she knew from years of stories and rumors- and the way he speaks of Ned is not the father she knew and loved. His words spoke nothing of the gentle and understanding man who raised her, who listened to each side of the three squabbling boys and herself for every little argument. And yet, her father's so neglected to shine light on the man in front of her, who was simply doing what he knew was right in a terrible situation.
"He judged me guilty the moment he set eyes on me."
She sucks in a sharp breath, wanting to argue- to tell him he should have said something, that her fatber would have listened. But she knows it would do little good, especially since she knows the exact condemning look from Lord Eddard Stark that is likely burned into his mind. The same one she'd seen him give plenty of men, even her, and her siblings on the rare occasion they'd done something to deserve it. It's s not a look one easily forgets.
"By what right does the wolf judge the lion?"
He sounds so broken, and it makes her heart ache. Had he not told anyone of this before? Has this truth been weighing in his heart since its conception? Sour and burning in his chest, growing harder with every not-so-quiet murmur of his broken oath?
She slips back into the warm water when he tries to stand, both she and Brienne catching him before he can slio below the surface.
"Jaime. My name is Jaime." He insists when Brienne calls for help, and Bel shushes him gently, far more gently than she would have twenty minutes ago, he hand soft on his cheek.
Years into their marriage, and Bel still lays awake at night wondering what her mother. Father, and brother Robb would think of her being with a Lannister- and Jaime Lannister at that!
Days of thinking they'd call her a traitor and disown her after everything the lions have done to them, and refusing to let him touch her.
Hating herself for falling for him, despite how wildly she loves him, only to fall into his arms crying and apologizing for pushing him away.
