Chapter 1: A Journey to the Unknown Village
Third POV
It was a quiet day in the Blake Pride, everyone was getting ready for an important meeting with the king and queen. Though everyone knows that the king and queen would be late for the meeting as they are dealing with their daughter. Everyone frowns at the thought of what they are doing to the poor girl but was too afraid of the king to try and stop them. Everyone knows not to anger the king. The poor girl has been abused by them ever since they found out about how she was born. Leah, the king’s and queen’s daughter was born biologically female but with male parts. The king and queen has hated her existence ever since. It’s like they blame her for being born like that, but they should know that babies don’t determine their own gender, but the parents do.
All of the sudden, the quiet day was broken by a females scream, and everyone knew who that scream belonged to. Everyone can’t wait for when Nicholas would become king, with his wife becoming queen. Unfortunately, that won’t happen for another thirty years. Everyone looked towards the kings and queens house, where the screaming is coming from.

Inside the house, we see Jason, the king, and Sarah, the queen, beating Leah for simply minding her own business. Nicholas and his wife, Hannah, was just off to the side watching with a grimace. They wanted to help, but they couldn’t help until Nicholas was king. If they do something now, then Nicholas would be disowned and exiled, and he needed to be king to make some changes to the pride so everyone can finally live in peace. Though, Nicholas does have an idea on how to help his little sister. He just needs to have a word with his sister, so she wouldn’t think he was betraying her. Finally, the beatings stop, and both Nicholas and Hannah was ordered to fix up Leah for the meeting. They waited for the king and queen to leave before making their way to Leah.
“Hey sis,” Nicholas said gently. He doesn't like seeing his sister like this, so vulnerable.
“Hey Leah, it’s going to be okay, your brother and I have an idea on how to save you from the abuse,” Hannah said to Leah. This caused Leah to perk up. She would always be grateful for both Nicholas and Hannah. She also understands on why they couldn’t stop the beatings. So, she gave her brother and sister-in-law her full attention.
“The best way, is for you to escape,” Nicholas said, gently petting Leah’s hair to comfort her, “but the best way for you to escape if for mom and dad to exile you, so they wouldn’t think to go looking for you.”
Leah thought this through, and nodded her head. She knows that if she just disappears, then she would be hunted and then killed. This would be her best shot at surviving. Nicholas nodded, then left to go speak to his parents to see if he can get them on board.

It was time for the meeting, and all the royal members of the pride was standing at the head of the room. Nicholas was hoping that he managed to convince his parents to exile his sister, until he could become king at least. Leah was standing next to her brother, and if everything goes according to plan, she’ll need to act distraught when the time comes. She just have to wait until her father and mother are done droning on about useless stuff.
“Now, before I dismiss this meeting, I have an announcement to make,” Jason said with his booming voice. Everyone slightly flinched, always hating how Jason used his commanding voice unnecessarily. “Leah, come forward, now.”
Leah straightened up, and walked forward, with fake confusion on her face. She knew what was coming.
“Your mother and I have been talking, and we agreed that we can no longer accept you in this pride, so we hereby announce that you are exiled,” Jason said with a smirk, that Sarah was also sporting. Leah was thankful for those acting lessons that her brother taught her, for she started to cry in fake despair. “We will allow for you to pack your clothes and weapons, and you have 24 hours before you have to leave. This meeting is now dismissed.”
Jason and Sarah walked off, and when they are no longer in sight, Leah stopped crying. Leah smiled a real smile for the first time in ages. She walked up to her brother to give him a hug, along with her sister-in-law.
“Thank you for always watching out for me,” Leah said, “I’m going to miss you.”
“We’ll miss you too,” Hannah said. Leah nodded and walked to her room to pack what she could. Once she was done, she used her magic to create a rift where she can safely store her belongings until she needs them. She then put her main weapons on, but used a cloaking charm so she doesn’t get stop for having them. She finally walks out to her brother handing her a ticket.
“This ticket will take you to Romania, it'll be the safest place for you in case mom and dad changes their mind later on,” Nicholas explained. Leah nodded and took the ticket. Leah left the pride, not turning back for fear she might run back and tell that it was all a plan for her to escape.

Leah’s POV
It has been a few days since I left and landed in Romania. When I could, i went straight for the woods to transform into my lioness form, thanking that my clothes and weapons gets absorbed in the transformation. I will always remember my brother and sister. I will always be thankful for them and the opportunity that they gave me to be free from all of the abuse. I can’t wait for the time my brother becomes king and allow me back with open arms.
I have been traveling for quite some time when I stumble upon a village that isn’t on any maps that I got. The smell I got from this village reeks of death and despair. So, I tread carefully, when I spotted a creature, I’ve never seen before. It looked like it was fixing to attack someone. I quickly charged at the creature and tackled it, still in my lioness form. The person was wearing a black hood, holding a sickle. She has blonde hair and was looking at me with surprise. I fought the creature viciously and managed to kill it. Though, I did get slightly injured. Unfortunately for me, I used all of my energy, which caused me to transform back into my human form and black out.

Bela’s POV
I stared at them human girl in shock. I just saw this girl as a lion and save me from the lycan. Though, I didn’t really need saving from the mindless beast. This girl intrigues me, so I picked her up and took her to my mother. Hopefully, mother allows me to keep her as I feel this connection to her.
