Apple has overtaken Coca-Cola as the most valuable brand
News from Interbrand’s latest report reveals Apple has surpassed Coca-Cola as the world’s most valuable brand. Coca Cola, previously holding the top spot has fallen to third place, behind tech-giants Apple and Google.
“Although ‘Coca-Cola is an efficient, outstanding brand marketer, no doubt about it,’ Apple and other leading technology brands have become ‘very much the poster child of the marketing community”, Jez Frampton, Interbrand’s global CEO.
The top 10 rankings, according to Interbrand:
1. Apple
2. Google
3. Coca-Cola
4. IBM
5. Microsoft
6. GE
7. McDonald’s
8. Samsung
9. Intel
10. Toyota
It’s unsure whether the release of Apple’s latest iPhone was the driving force behind their jump up the ladder or whether Coca Cola’s recent bottle cap crisis is to blame for their decline.
Or maybe the most recent rankings are just a result of the ‘Digital Revolution’ and our growing love affair with all digital things digital.
