Armed & Dangerous - Steve & Diana
Steve’s spine straightened so quickly he was surprised it didn’t snap. He held his hands up, as the cold barrel of a gun was placed against the back of his neck, and he was shoved against the side of the Army issued Ford he’d been driving. Through the windows he watched as Diana was given similar treatment by more villains in suits.
“Go for your gun, Major Trevor, and we will kill the girl,” the man holding his gun at Diana’s head said. He was a big guy, with nearly white hair, and his eyes hidden behind dark glasses. But Steve thought he heard a hint of a German accent in his words. “Then we will take you anyway.”
“Don’t hurt her!” Steve growled as he was frisked and his weapon tossed into the bushes. He had to fight the urge to let the thugs have it, but he couldn’t risk Diana’s life. She was his friend, and it would be unacceptable if she got hurt.
“Ve won’t.” Yep Germans, great there were spies in Washington, DC, which shouldn’t be a surprise—not really. “We will be taking you both with us to Berlin, Major. I hope you enjoy the trip.”
