Ngl, I teared up a bit when I got the prompt that Heather was dead. Yes, every death before his was a bit of a bummer, but Heather was the first time a character died that I was already truly attached to. It's moments like these where I've wanted to close out Clangen and retry the moon to get something different--but that's not how this works! I can only hope that you all have come to love Heather as much as I have.

Just wanted to mention that Grouse's relationship with the unnamed rogue is kept vague so that readers can interpret it however they want. Grove knowing about the rogue is also something that isn't established on-page, so that's another thing that you're free to imagine yourself. I'll have more to say in the next page!

Also, one more week to go before we're on another hiatus! I'll do a status update at the end of this moon.

So! One thing I wanna make explicitly clear is that, canonically, Heather didn't groom Daisy. That's why I made sure that she was the one to confess her feelings, and that almost all of their romantic buildup was from her perspective! (Of course, there are no thought police, and you are welcome to come up with whatever headcannons you'd like!)

When I got the prompt that Grouseslash refused to go to Heather's vigil, I hadn't even realized that she hated him at that point (I wasn't always great about keeping an eye on the relationship bars, oops-I have a whole chart for it now!). So it provided a great opportunity to revisit the unnamed rogue arc and really dig into how that might have impacted her relationships with authority and the way she views the world.

At the same time, I wanted Grovewave to provide a more grounded perspective. Grouse is allowed to hate Heather, but her judgements of Heather and Daisy's relationship is a projection of her own experiences and grudges in a way that ignores Daisy's autonomy. It's a tricky subject but I hope everyone has enjoyed the emotional depth.
