@pforestsims Deco Donation Box & Table Sign Fully Repo'd
These are clones with new guids and wont conflict with the originals. The donation box was already repo'd to the BG Cozy Colonial End Table which is actually a coffee table, I repo'd the sign part to the Ikea Slatthult sticker, preview uses one of my badge recolors to show how you can make it look like a collection box for the garden club. I also made PF's sign texture into a Slatthult recolor and made an invisible recolor too. The frame of the table sign was already repo'd to the OFB Mr Generic's Sign, I repo'd the sign part to the BG Bella Squared painting and turned PF's sign textures into recolors for that. Both meshes are found in Deco -> Misc

Hi everyone!
It has been brought to my attention that during the previous year's event promotion, AI was used to create at least some of the promotional materials. As the person that originally ran this blog and used to create the graphics for the first couple of years, I have found this information incredibly disappointing and disheartening, as I'm sure all of you have as well.
In order to rectify the situation I have taken sole possession of the blog and completely cleared it to give all of us a fresh start, and will be running Spookfest myself this year.
I'm going to state this here and clearly so that everyone knows where I stand on this situation and what the Spookfest potential future team's stance is:
This is a gen-AI free space. There is no room for gen-AI in creative spaces. We do not condone theft of artwork by or the astronomically detrimental environmental impact of AI. No further posts, works or submissions will contain AI as far as can be controlled, and if we are made aware of the use of AI in anything that may be shared by us, it will be immediately removed.
That out of the way, there will be a Spookfest 2026, and I really hope that you'll join me in October to celebrate the spooky season with fabulous creations of your own. I am committed to making this year the best Spookfest yet!!!

📺🖼️🤔 Let's analyze The Sims 2 ART
From video description:
I'm starting a new series! The art work and descriptions in The Sims 2 needs analyzing, and I'm all here for it. Hopefully YOU are too ❤
This video dedicated to analyzing artworks in The Sims 2 game. The Reese provides detailed breakdowns of the descriptions and visual elements of four paintings from the game, revealing their hidden meanings and references.
In the Beginning
The first painting costs 600 simoleons and has 4 environment points. The description states: "The best famous painting by Sim City's best famous surrealist 'Luc Diswé' 'In the Beginning' deals with familiar themes of desire and betrayal within the framework of post-industrial social alienation."
Author's analysis:
Biblical references: The apple in the painting refers to Eve's temptation in the Garden of Eden, while the title "In the Beginning" references the Book of Genesis
Connection to Bella Goth: The female figure with an apple for a head resembles Bella Goth in a red dress, which is a reference to the first The Sims game
Possible Apple reference: The apple may symbolize Apple Inc. and EA's temptation to make games for Mac
Wordplay: The artist's name Luc Diswé (Look This Way) plays with the perception of surrealism
Art criticism parody: The description parodies the lofty language of gallery criticism, using terms like "desire," "betrayal," "post-industrial alienation"
Bella Squared
The painting costs 1000 simoleons and provides 7 environment points. Description: "One of Sim City's best-known inhabitants and famous neighbors, Bella is now forever preserved by this glorious work of art. Her is a gorgeous face is recognized and loved by many, though the piece has been heralded as a "painting destined for greatness", its anonymous creator refuses to come forth."
Author's analysis:
Multi-layered reference: The painting is a tribute to the mystery of Bella Goth, one of the most iconic characters in The Sims universe
Meta-wink to fans: References player speculation about Bella's fate over the years
Pop art style: The title "Bella Squared" plays with pop art style
Anonymous creator: A nod to the game developers who built Bella's disappearance into the plot but never gave a full canonical explanation
Celebrity cult: Parody of celebrity worship through art, turning people into symbols
"Untitled" by Len Bledgemann
The most expensive painting at 2700 simoleons with maximum 10 environment points. Description: "After a disenchanting tenure in the food service industry, Bledgemann emerged as one of art scene's intriguing self-taunght artists. His series of pop-art images is renowned for critiquing modern culture subtly, yet scathingly."
Author's analysis:
Andy Warhol reference: The painting closely resembles Warhol's famous works featuring portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Princess Diana, and other celebrities
Bella as Sims queen: The resemblance to Bella Goth may reference her status as "queen" of The Sims universe
Pop art criticism: The description directly references pop art's irony and its criticism of mass culture
Romanticized artist parody: Bledgemann's story as a self-taught artist from the food industry mocks the "starving artist" cliché
"Untitled": An overused title in contemporary art, implying either depth or pretentious minimalism
A Sim Noir Print
The painting costs 3000 simoleons with 10 environment points. Description: "It was cold. Rain was falling, water running down the street like loose words in a bad novel. 'I just don't know, doll face', he said. She knew he would never know, and a sinr tear formed at her eye's corner. Guilt tugged at his heart strings like a bad guitarist, and he knew it was all over."
Author's analysis:
Roy Lichtenstein style: The painting closely resembles Lichtenstein's works, especially "Thinking of Him" (1963) and "Crying Girl" (1963)
Noir narrative: The description is written in a stylized noir narrator voice with dark metaphors and fatalistic emotions
Purple prose: Phrases like "water running down the street like imprecise words in a bad novel" highlight the genre's tendency toward flowery prose
Classic noir elements: Disillusioned detective, crying woman, unresolved emotional conflict - straight from 1940s black-and-white crime films
Mass production: The title emphasizes that this is not a unique work but a mass-produced reproduction of stylized despair
Conclusion
The video demonstrates deep understanding of both The Sims gaming culture and art history, revealing the multi-layered references and parodies embedded by developers in the game's artwork descriptions.

“What?”
“How?"
“When?!?"
Beca, Stacie, Aubrey and Chloe stood in front of Jessica, Ashley and Emily at the large cabin they rented on a Georgia lake. The Bellas were having a reunion for the ten year anniversary of their first national title. Cynthia Rose, Fat Amy and Lilly were all due in the next morning.
“We’re going to have to answer questions tomorrow,” Beca pointed out. “How about we save it all for them?"
“Not a chance,” Jessica laughed while crossing her arms over her chest. “You have to give us something to go on. You can’t just say, “hey we’re all together by the way”, and leave it there.”
