The day that changed my life.
The first day I dealt with this, j didn’t realize anything was wrong. Until I found it hard to speak. Or when I tried to eat. I was at school when I noticed this. I will never forget that day. I thought I was becoming disabled. I felt clueless and very lost. Like another student at school I went to the nurse. I stayed there for about an hour until the ambulance came to get me. And like another person, I cried. I cried to my hearts content because I didn’t know what was wrong with me. The nurse called me down, but it didn’t do much. While I stayed at the hospital for 3 days I wondered.
Why me?
Why now?
Am I the only one?
But during that time I began to learn about it. From there I wasn’t afraid anymore. I embraced my face to the best of my ability and kept strong. What topped the cake, is that I felt insecure about myself already, so now I had to deal with not looking the same as everyone. I felt alone at the time until I took it to social media. One picture lead to many people telling me to “be strong” “you look beautiful” and “you will get better”.
And I did. Also like anyone dealing with this, I lost people in my life, a boyfriend that I had, a girl that used to be my best friend, and subscribers. (I make YT videos). But from all this, I want to thank my friends that still were my friends threw out my recovery, my Spanish teacher that helped me with facial exercises, and most importantly my mom. For giving me all the love and support anyone can wish for throughout this hardship, this bump in the road.
And thank you to you for reading my story. :) [btw I’m 3 months free of Bells Palsy]
