"Where you go, I go."
"But I don't wanna go there, Rae!"
😂 I know this joke is a kinda out of character (it would fit Tally and Rae more) but I just really wanted to use that line. And wouldn't Beltane be so much more fun if we had Scylla around?
Anyway, fun fact: the whole "where you go, I go" thing echoes biblical scripture which is very on theme with Raelle's christo-pagan schtick. It comes from the book of Ruth, which is a story about the devotion and love between two women. The passage it comes from (chapter 1 verse 16) is heavily used in wedding vows, so much that some queer folk believe Ruth is representational of the Gays. Long live the lesbians.
This sketch was based on one of Mark Tennant's figure paintings. I don't know what possessed me to put this much effort for an out-of-character joke, but it sparked joy and I haven't been this excited over a show (yet alone excited for anything at all) in a very long time. If you haven't yet, please watch @motherland, it's divine. Thanks for reading :)
