I wish I could say I was about to say "my daughter sleeps great and I get a great nights sleep and nap with her!" But nope. I'm talking about the way my daughter sleeps. I posted a picture of her sleeping yesterday. And yes, she sleeps on her stomach. She has for about a week and half now? Before that she slept on her back until she was 2 or 3 weeks old, then was a strict side sleeper, but would sometimes roll onto her back. And now, for reasons I don't know, she strictly only sleeps on her stomach. That's not my choice, it's hers. She will NOT sleep any other way. I've tried putting her on her side, but she just rolls to her back and wakes up. Won't sleep on her back either. She gets uncomfortable and squirms until she wakes herself up. She has AMAZING head and neck control. She can lift and turn her head, which she actually does often. She's a smart baby, she has never put her head face down for more than a couple seconds and that's just because she's getting the strength to move it to the side again. Criticize me all you want, but if that's the only way she will sleep, that's how she's staying. I'm VERY aware that it causes concerns for SIDS but I assure you, I have watched her sleep like this, checked on her many times... And she's perfectly fine. Thank you for your concerns, I do keep them in mind, as it concerns me too. But my baby needs to sleep and that's the only way she will.
