For this week's bellybeatz playlist we have chosen a friend of ours and a dear part of the NYC dance community - Rachid Halihal! We love his mastery of Arabic music, from the fiddle to the oud to his vocals-- he is just such an incredible, authentic musician! Last night we were hanging out with Rachid at Hayaty and we had a really fun time! There was also an Egyptian percussionist named Said who was very kind and was an amazing musician!
Rachid plays at Hayaty every Monday nights from 8-11 and on Wednesday nights at Horus on Ave A
