Birthday Dinner For Two || Hp Verse
The birthday presents were wrapped and sitting on the table. He wrapped them early and set them out so Sousuke would see the gifts before he left for class. Ichigo forbade him from opening them until later and Sousuke called him a tease. Ichigo had simply grinned at his beloved before giving him a long goodbye kiss then sending his lover off to his classes for the day. He could not wait to see his husband’s reaction to what was in those packages.
There was a small magical bookshop in town that the two of them frequently visited. In this bookshop was a particular set of hundred year old first edition runic books that Sousuke was drawn to. His husband looked longingly at them every time they were in the shop. Ichigo urged him to buy them several times, but Sousuke always refused saying they were much too expensive. When Ichigo began to think of what to get his soulmate for his birthday naturally the books were the first things that entered the redhead’s mind. Ichigo asked the shop owner if it would be possible to put the set of books on hold until he could get together the money to buy them and she had agreed. Now those same books were sitting on their table, wrapped in brightly colored wrapping paper, waiting for Sousuke to open them.
In addition to his younger flying students, Ichigo recently picked up a few private lessons for students who were either interested in trying out for Quidditch teams or were already on their school teams. Their parents jumped at the chance to have their children train with an ex-professional Quidditch player. With Ichigo being a successful flying teacher and Sousuke doing runic work on the side until his classes were finished the two of them were doing well for themselves here in America. Sousuke was even talking about wanting to open up another runic shop sometime soon. Buying the books would not hurt them at all financially. Not that Ichigo cared about the cost of the books. What he cared about was that those books would make his beloved husband happy.
The timer on the oven beeped and Ichigo went to get the cake out. He left the cake cooling on the counter while he got to work setting the table for Sousuke’s birthday dinner. Instead of cooking dinner Ichigo decided to order something from Sousuke’s favorite local restaurant so all he had to do was heat it up when they were ready to eat. It was shaping up to be a beautiful evening, so Ichigo thought he would set things up on the table out on the deck. He bought some cheesy birthday decorations at a party store downtown because he figured they would get a chuckle out of his soul mate. He also bought a bouquet of brightly colored balloons. He left the balloons and gifts on the table in the kitchen, that now sported a plastic birthday tablecloth.
He hung a birthday banner above the door that led out to the deck before moving outside. Once the table on the deck was set for dinner, complete with two vases full of fresh red roses, Ichigo made a fire in their outdoor fire pit. He was thinking that Sousuke might enjoy sitting by the fire with him and cuddling while they roasted marshmallows and looked at the stars together.
He went back inside and iced the cake. It wasn’t anything fancy and the writing on the cake wasn’t his best work, but he knew Sousuke would appreciate the gesture all the same. He moved the cake over to the table with the presents and stood back to look at his handiwork. He nodded, happy with the way things were set up, then went to change his clothes. Sousuke would be home any minute and then they could spend the rest of the night celebrating the day his beloved was born.
Sousuke had been looking forwards to the end of the day. He was incredibly curious about what his beloved had gotten him for his birthday. His classes passed a curious mixture of very fast and incredibly slowly, and the young men was eager to get home to his beloved soulmate. Several of his classmates wished him a happy birthday, and the young runic master happily accepted their birthday wishes. Finals week loomed less than three weeks in the distance, but Sousuke was fairly confident that he would be able to pass all of his classes with flying colors.
He studied carefully every day, using the study guides that the teachers had provided them. He was also careful not to overdo his studying, as he had occasionally done while the two of them had been at Hogwarts. Coming to America and integrating into American Wizarding society had been a bit of a culture shock – things were a great deal different here than either of them had been expecting, but Sousuke was more than glad to be free and safe than trapped in Britain where he waited to ensnare them into the darkness and misery that he had planned for them.
One of his runic clients had owled him, asking for an update on the display that he’d been working for the other. This particular client was looking to update the wards on his family’s ancestral homestead, and Sousuke had been carefully going over the runic and other wards that had been previously overlaid on the grounds – as there could be terrible consequences if one did not take into account what had been previously done, to either build on top of those old wards and runes, or if those old wards and runes had to be carefully undone before starting the entire project anew. Sousuke had explained this to his client on the initial visit to the other’s home, and the man had seemingly understood…
Though from the rather impatiently curious tone of the letter, it seemed as though his client wasn’t aware of just how dangerous a misplaced rune, or a conflict in wards could become. As he waited for the magical public bus to arrive, he carefully penned a letter back, explaining that he was almost done going through the previous wards that had been placed on the other’s homestead, and that several of them would have to be broken before he could put the runic wards that the client had requested to put it in – otherwise the two wards would conflict with one another and, at best be completely nonfunctional, and at worst, cause a section of the other’s home to blow up in a spectacularly obvious spectacle that the other most likely had no desire to deal with in the least. He sent the letter back on the owl that had arrived with the letter, and patiently waited for the bus to arrive, going through one of his in depth study guides, as he had the time to do so.
Sousuke came home about fifteen minutes later than usual – there had been an accident in the middle of the route that the bus usually took, and re-routing had been a difficult and lengthy detour. Soususke could have apparated close to home, but the small village that the two of them lived in had anti-apparition words, and it would have taken him almost the same amount of time to walk to their home, anyways. He knocked lightly on the door before entering, so as not to startle his beloved “I’m home, darling~. All of this looks amazing, thank you.”
Ichigo wrapped his arms around Sousuke’s neck and gave his husband a gentle kiss on the lips. “Happy new year, my love.” He smiled up at his beloved and kissed the other again. “I love you, Sou and I am happy that we are about to start another new year together. You make me so happy and I’m glad that we found each other and decided to spend our lives together. I love you more than you can possibly imagine.”
A warm smile appeared on Sousuke’s face as he leaned into his beloved’s warmth. He kissed the other back, murmuring “I love you more than I could ever express, and I am happy that we are facing the new year together. You cause me great joy and I am blessed to have you in my life.”
👏
They would have light brown hair with orange streaks that reaches almost to their butt. It is in a low ponytail, held by a black and white band. They are about ten-twelve feet tall, and have three arms and two eyes which are a shade between Aizen and Ichigo’s when they aren’t fighting (which if this is close to canon verse, would surprise the hell out of everyone that they apparently would get along that well). They have a sliver of a Hollow’s mask from left temple to the middle of their chin, along the jawline. It is white with a strip of ever shifting colors to anyone who has seen Aizen’s shikai, though to those who haven’t it is black.
If they use their hollow powers, a full bone mask appears on their face, similar to Ichigo’s most powerful hollow mask, with the ever shifting color patterns on the two black stripes (or black, if you haven’t seen Aizen’s shikai) and their eyes are gold on black when in their hollowfication side. They also gain wings in their hollow form, similar to one of Aizen’s forms in the FKT fight.
They have the Getsuga Tenshou which they can manipulate the direction and force of with much more precision and effect than Ichigo can alone… Oh and they are always in Shikai like Ichigo is, which means that Aizen’s illusions - unless they decide otherwise - are affecting everyone.
They are generally a soft spoken, sweet tempered and curious fusion. Unless they are threatened or Ichigo’s precious people are. Then they get vicious and very destructive. They are impossible to catch when on the move and are ridiculously powerful, although how strong the fusion is, no one can tell as they cannot be sensed (like Ichigo coudln’t be sensed by Aizen towards the end of the FKT fight, as their combined spiritual pressure is something that most shinigami couldn’t begin to comprehend. They have to be extremely careful when dealing with other souls as if they aren’t careful, they will destroy everything in a two hundred mile radius with a flicker of thought).
They have a high regenerative factor, if they ever do get hit, if any attacks manage to actually hit them. Then again if someone or another fusion thinks that they have hit this fusion, it is quite likely an illusion.
If they ever went into bankai… Well, whatever it was that warranted that would be utterly obliterated.
Most are put at ease by this easy going and sweet fusion, and are utterly unprepared for the sheer destructive power they wield. Given that their song would probably be either this or this it should be a warning but *shrugs*.
A New Chapter

Moving to America had been a complicated and difficult process. The laws regarding magic were very different than in Britain, but that wasn’t the hardest part. The most difficult part had been leaving the little flat that the two of them had been living for the better part of four years. Sousuke had never lived in one place for so long (apart from Hogwarts) and the roots that they had been setting down in the half-magical community were difficult to uproot.
Harder still was the fact that they could not say goodbye to their friends and neighbors as they should, lest Juha Bach learn of their leaving for parts unknown and try to grab them in transit… Or lay in wait at the small house that they had bought in America, with cash that they had converted from the magical money that the American Wix used.
It had taken them months to carefully convert the galleons, sickles, and knuts they had gotten from both Ichigo’s time as a Quiddich player, and the shop that Sousuke had run where he had sold runic items (bags of holding, never-wrinkle cloaks and clothing and the like mostly, though occasionally he was commissioned to make something much more complex and expensive items, such as a pensieve, but that was rare. He had left the current months’ rent for the shop space on the table, where the landlord would find it. Apart from that his shop was completely empty and closed) to the magical money that the Americans used, as well as a good amount of non-magical money as well, given the community they were going to was not magical people only.
Sousuke knew that they were running away… Again. But they were gathering more allies than they had, and it was going to take them time to carefully remove the grasp that the Dark Lord had on Magical Britain’s government. The house that they had purchased and enchanted and the small plot of land around it was under a Fidelius Charm (something that they had gotten permission from the American government – both on the local and federal level – to get, after coming clean to the immigration clerk as to why they were planning on living in America for an extended amount of time. They had checked Sousuke and found the remnants of the Vassalage Contract and offered both of them Refugee status which they had accepted gratefully) and given the person who was the person who Knew... It was vanishingly unlikely that Juha Bach would ever find out where they were.
Sousuke was in the process of being certified as a master runic master in the united states, and would be going through courses in a magical university (which was a thing in a number of magical communities, but not popular at all in Europe) in the US, something that the studious brunet was very much looking forwards to. As Refugees, they would be very well taken care of… But neither of them were going to rely too heavily on the aid and assistance that would be offered to them, as they didn’t need it.
Ichigo was already a certified flying instructor, and would be teaching the local wix children, something that the brunet knew that his beloved was very much looking forwards to. Their bags (two each, magically enchanted to have a great deal of space, but neither of them kept many worldly possessions. Most of it had already been moved into their new house. Their first house! It was an exciting thought) were already packed, and they waited for the portkey they had been given to take them to the (magical) American Embassy (which was foreign soil and thus unmonitored by the magical British Government and regularly and thoroughly checked by the Americans… Suspicious lot, but then again they were a determined bunch).
The minutes ticked by, and Sousuke found himself counting the seconds down to this next phase in their life, one hand firmly grasping the blue fountain pen, the other holding onto Ichigo, trying not to grip tighter than the slightly desperate grab that he had the other’s hand in, lest they accidentally crack one another’s fingers in nerves. He kept the thoughts of what had happened several Christmases ago to Ichigo, and the damned Pages of a few months ago…
He felt the jerk in his navel, the terrible, squeezing sensation and dizzying blur of images and almost-sounds and they landed in the main entrance of the American Embassy. They left the portkey in the designated bin and (still hand in hand) the two of them walked to the fireplace (it was large enough to accommodate the both at the same time) they each grabbed a pinch of powder and called out the receiving atrium for refugees at the same time, the green powder flashing them there.
~
A couple of hours passed as they finished up the last remaining paperwork and the two of them were able to step out into the muggy heat of the Capitol, squinting a little in the bright sunrise.
