Ok no because THIS FIC dude this fic, honestly it baffles me a bit? I wrote it in like, a few days for an event and somehow it’s like, my most popular marauders one??
It’s funny because the prompts are not something I’d write usually, like at all. In fact, body swaps are something I generally don't enjoy because of the stress factor. That’s the reason for them only swapping on Sundays and not actually doing much in each others lives- I cringe so hard whenever characters are bad at pretending to be someone and would have probably cried if Remus had to like, do an interview as Sirius or something 😭😭 I did really enjoy writing the initial switch though, that first impression and panic was really, really fun to do. I didn't intend it to be too long, I thought it would be like 3-4k, but by the time I'd gotten midway through writing Sirius waking up in Remus' body and it was already over 1k, I realised it was going to be a good chunk longer. (it was. it was 16k. oops.)
AND THE SONG LYRICS, well it was no question to go Conan Gray cause I’ve been fixated on him for a while now, but I went through like all of his songs trying to find one that would feasibly work for two people writing it while not technically together. I thought astronomy fit best, especially considering the fact that Sirius is Sirius and probably loves to flaunt his star theme everywhere. i also heavily considered using The Story for a bit!
I actually don’t remember much of writing this fic, again, I wrote it in a short time with prompts that had me floundering, but I reread it recently and honestly it’s fun! I’m fond of the texting between the two of them, and Sirius’ little ploy of trying to get Remus to send selfies, it’s just so them and so sweet.
I do like to imagine that after Sirius and Remus have their pictures plastered across the internet it causes uproar in Remus’ life. That poor man is a teacher and a completely normal guy who is suddenly being photographed with an incredibly famous singer that lives pretty far away from him like??? The fans are having a field day. Remus' friends are also having a field day except they are much more stressed because he refuses to answer questions for a solid like, four hours and just keeps sending selfies with sirius to them instead of proper messages
Originally, I planned to have the dialogue prompt ''I'm never doing that again' be Remus talking to Sirius after he had to pretend to be him either on stage or in some sort of interview, but then I thought too hard about it and decided that I would simply die trying to write it LMAO, again, I really can't do that kind of 'badly pretending to be something someone is not' thing, which you'd think isn't a problem except it shows up in so much media its nearly impossible to avoid
But yeah, my biggest thought about this fic is genuinely how did it get to be one of my most popular fics, I do not understand. i do want to write more famous sirius though, i love the trope so much
