SKLT SLKT
This week Andalucían bass label Below Music gave away the first in a series of free tracks that they’ll be offering between releases: ‘Runaway’ by SKLT SLKT. They could hardly have started in better style.
A fresh, fluid track that washes around a sample of E’voke’s mid-nineties single of the same name, ‘Runaway’ also comes with a sobering video capturing the conditions of the 65.3 million people currently living in exile due to war, hunger and violent regimes. Aiko
Barcelona-based producer Aiko started off his musical journey in Valencia’s underground scene, experimenting with jungle and dubstep textures. Now he’s moved into the deeper and more spacious territory of ‘Perc’, which stalks its environment like a nocturnal predator, subtle and fleet-footed.
‘Perc’ is also the first release on box-fresh Andalusian label Below Music, a new imprint looking to showcase the best new bass music. With Aiko’s ‘Perc’, they’ve made a good start.
