I've never called my brother anything other than "Gor" (short for "Gor Gor", the Cantonese term for older brother), so I find it interesting that you decided to stop using those terms. I actually feel weird if I have to call him by his real name.

Party why I stopped, now that I think about it, was because my older brothers weren't using the terms toward each other or toward my sister, so I guess it felt "grown up" to stop using such terms within my immediate family. But I still use such terms for certain cousins, but not all my cousins. Oddly, the "closer" or more familiar I am to a cousin, the less likely I am to use the Vietnamese honorifics so that the Vietnamese "chi" and "anh" feel more formal for me. My ass backwards cultural steepage. XD

Full disclosure: It's been quite some time since I've really used LJ, but carrying on a conversation with belowthesky on LJ has been so easy and clean that if you want to just casually chat about the episode with me or anyone else who comes to chat with me--seriously, anything goes as can be clearly seen from our comments and you should feel free to jump into the middle of a conversation to add your points BECAUSE IT'S SO EASY ON LJ BECAUSE OF BEAUTIFUL, GLORIOUS NESTING COMMENTS--hit me up on LJ.
Anonymous commenting is on but the comments get screened so don't panic if it doesn't show up--I get notified. (Actually, I might turn this off. For now.) Or should if LJ doesn't eat your comment. (PRO TIP: I've had LJ eat enough of my comments that I use some outside word processor to write my comment before copy and pasting them in. Because my comments get lengthy.)
I'm enjoying the ease of conversing with belowthesky so much that I'm probably going to make a cursory post for every episode, even if I don't do a write up..

IKR! I can't remember if he also did a Nausicaa theme cover, which also has some heartbreakingly beautiful strings. (Although I think my brain always conflates the ending credits song from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" with the theme of Nausicaa. . . or possibly the main theme from The Chinese Botanist's Daughter, which is already erhu and beautiful, even if I can barely remember the movie. XD)
