My grandpa Ben's old WW2 photos. These are his babes who sent him pictures while he was away being a rifleman! I created the scrapbook. I have to research where he actually was stationed. There will be more in this series.

My grandfather, Ben Chortkoff, with his girlfriend, Esther. As you can see Ester was no Millie, but she was a cutie and certainly a similar type. She has an easy smile and light way about her. I met her once or twice when I got those fleeting glimpses of Ben when I got to say hello and then, goodbye. Life aint fair. Don't smoke. If you do, and you are this age, please, stop!

Ben Chortkoff, early 1940s. I can imagine why his mom Bertha had a nervous break-down having to send my sweet faced young grandpa out to fight in WW2. Look how tiny he was! But he kicked ass. A tough little man. And a hard working man. Love you and miss you grandpa Ben!
