404 (cover) | Lost Dog Street Band | Aaron Walker

I learned this one on the road. My friends hate it because every oogle seems to know it and they've heard it 1000 times, but I fucking love singing this song on the streets. The last time I went busking before quarantine, I played it for some old mountain dudes in downtown Lawrenceburg, TN. The "I broke my head over my good friend's head" line made him smile and that made me food real good. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lyrics (the way I sing it):
I sold my banjo for bag of dope and a pitcher of beer at the 404 and I'm sittin' here and I'm cryin'
I broke my hand over my good friend's head now it's, two weeks later in a hospital bed and that curse will follow you
and oooo, I won't hurt you anymore I'll just walk right out that door
Well I was lost and so was she she taught me to love, to feel and breathe her name was Daisy, Daisy
Five states ago I was a different man now I've done some things that you may resent but I don't think you'll mind
and oooo, I won't hurt you anymore I'll just walk right out that door
Well I pawned my banjo for a bag of dope pitcher of beer at the 404 and I'm sittin' here and I'm cryin' and oooo, I won't hurt you anymore I'll just walk right out that door.
