If the boots fit... casting
The past few days have been a bit of a nightmare trying to find a leading man. The basic story is going to revolve around a central character - a British POW in war torn Germany... it's a scenario that's born of the rail yard location, the practicalities of a small cast, and the available costume options. I have a pair of size 9 boots and a wonderful big old army greatcoat that just oozes character and authenticity but needs a 6' actor.
Days of pulling in favours and spreading the word on networks have thrown up a number of possibilities but none are ideal. My fault really for trying to pull this together so quickly. Then today... a golden stroke of luck...

The practical criteria are just the start; Ben looks great for the part - lean and with stunning eyes. He has by far the most experience of anyone I've contacted (mostly theatre but a high profile short too; Top of The Range). He's just finished a tour and likes the sound of the film and will come up for the two day shoot for the price of his train fair. Of course I've no idea what he's like - I don't have the luxury of time or funds for proper casting, but as long as those boots fit him...
