sooo audrey throws a party. she tried to avoid inviting her exes, but hey. c’est la vie.

ben shows up when the party’s already in full-swing, and they’re in the middle of a game of truth or dare

everyone makes fun of him and someone is like ‘well now ben has to go’ and he’s like ‘ahhh fine dare’

and audrey is it and she looks him dead in the eyes and goes ‘i dare you to kiss the prettiest person in the room on the lips.’

CUE BEN PANICKING

bc everyone else in the room is together with somebody else, and even if he does kiss somebody who’s dating somebody else, who’s he gonna kiss??? audrey, his ex??? mal, his other ex??? carlos? (no jay would hit him) evie? (no mal would hit him) jane? (no lonnie would hit him)

so….. he leans next to him and kisses chad square on the mouth

there’s like thirty gasps of disbelief and chad making a surprised ‘oomph’ noise and ben is like ‘fUCK i fucked up whoops’

and then chad pulls back and just softly goes ‘bro’ and ben feels his whole heart just squeeze

(if you pay close attention you can hear mal trying to stifle her cackling and evie shushing her)

and chad goes ‘bro i didn’t know you felt that way’ and ben raises his eyebrows and asks ‘do you? feel that way?’

and audrey cuts in with ‘wAIT wait wait aren’t y’all straight?’ and chad shrugs and says ‘i’m an equal opportunity knight in shining armor’

everyone loses it; mal laughs so loud they’re pretty sure that aurora is gonna wake up and call the cops. she’s a heavy sleeper

they hold hands the rest of the time
