If he was going to do this right, the first thing he needed to do was to find a proper weapon. 

Making his way through the undergrowth, careful to make as little noise as possible, the sound of rustling -- something that could not be simply passed by as animals -- caught his attention. Tense, alert, and with his fists clenched, he slowly made his way towards the source of the sound. His can of pepper spray was resting in his jacket pocket, ready to be used if necessary, but he had decided early on that unless he had the advantage of surprise, he would rather take his chances on using his bare hands. And now, not knowing what to expect, he ventured forward, muscles tense and ready to take on whatever was ahead.
