Hey friends! What are some helpful hotel room guidelines…”
@221bcon @ homelessnetwork-221bcon Any advice?
Hello Friends! This is a really great question, but difficult to answer. Every group of people are different and have different needs. But here are a few tips that should help.
Make sure all medical (physical and mental) situations are clear to your roommates. If you take medications, let your roommates know in case of emergency. If you have anxiety, let them know. They can’t help you if they don’t know. Communication is key.
Have your sleeping arrangements sorted ahead of time. Make sure it’s clear who sleeps where so there are no conflicts once you arrive. Also sleep schedules should be discussed. Who gets up early, who sleeps late, etc.
Be courteous to your roommates (and fellow congoers) and shower once daily. It wouldn’t hurt to have a shower schedule.
Since you have so many people in a room check in as early as you can and make sure to ask for the beds you want. Please note that roll away beds do NOT work in a room with double beds. It causes an issue in case of fire (laws are laws).
Bring extra toilet paper! We cannot stress this enough. Yes the hotel will provide TP, but the hotel will be full and the staff will be very busy. They may not get to you in time. HN will have spare on hand should you need any in case of emergency.
Most importantly, HAVE FUN!
