This is how Ben sleeps when he's all comfy in his blanket. Cola bottle included to show just how far from vertical he was.
Update
Hello!
Just a quick update on why the blog has been so quiet this past week. Last Saturday we woke up to hear Ben crying and squeaking in his cage, obviously in pain as he was going to the loo, and really distressed. One quick phone call to the vets as soon as they opened and I had an appointment for 11.30.
We wandered up with him in his little carrier box, all wrapped up in blankets because it is SO COLD here at the moment, and he was happily squeaking away the whole journey, staring out of the sides of the carrier at the people walking past.
The vet checked his bladder (cue squeaking) and could feel no stones, took his temperature with a thermometer up the bum (one not very impressed piggy) and diagnosed a urinary tract infection as he couldn't see anything visible that could be causing him so much pain.
He gave Ben an anti-inflammatory injection, and he's had a week of baytril as is standard with any small furry issues.
I've just been giving him cuddles this week, without sticking a camera in his face, and he seems to be feeling better. I'm so relieved, I'm such a worrier!
Looking to move him onto fleece in case the sawdust contributed to the problem.
