A/n: my first fic ever!! this is by no means good as it’s my first ever fic and I am by no means a writer! and I’m honestly terrified to post it but might aswell, if yall hate it then I know this blog is not a fanfic blog 😭❤️‍🩹 please leave some constructive criticism! I’d love to get better at writing and thankyou if you read it! <3

The warm, humid environment of the Peruvian jungle was a drastic change to the bleak, cold place England was. Lara was trudging ahead, holding up the lantern she lit previously. It was beginning to get dark yet she shown no signs of stopping. You however started to slow down, not going unnoticed by her.

“You okay? Not much further now” she murmurs, voice hoarse and raspy as she glances black. “But we can stop if need be?” she adds, stopping in her tracks with a hand out, fingertips ghosting along the back of your hand. Not close enough to touch but close enough to know she’s there. You however, shake your head “It’s alright, I can go further.” She gives you uneasy glance to which you reply with a firm shake of your head “We’re so close to trinity, we can’t stop now”. Sighing she drops her hands and tilts her head, turning and walking forward deeper into the trees and thick foliage.

It only took a few minutes till you had stopped, sweating yet freezinf at the same time, like your nerves had slowly worn down your other senses. Your head spins as you lean against a tree, Lara instantly rushing to aid. “Love? Are you okay?” she asks frantically, helping you sit on a nearby nod. After answering with a small shake of your head she takes off her bow and lays it to the side, resuming her hold on you. “just feeling a little unwell, must be the weather” you mutter almost unheard by her. She gently strokes the hair off your forehead, slick with sweat. “Mhm, we’ll stop here for the night?”

“Sounds a plan”

the two of you set up under the stars, laying in her embrace. Aside from the sweltering heat, you believe it couldn’t get much better than this. Trinity could wait, tonight it was you and Lara.
