Soma!Ben x Rex
Alright, it's the weekend (and I have no homework), so I've spent my time considering Soma!Ben. Just to clarify, he goes by 'Ben' to everyone in his dimension/realm, it's only around alternates or within other realities that he refers to himself as 'Soma'. If you ever see a drawing of mine with a Ben wearing a bull skull choker, that's him.
Here are some notes on their relationship:
•Rex is a romantic
•Ben is very skittish about going public, at least in his home dimension. He fears that in doing so, not only will he suffer a deluge of criticism by the media but also upset the various individuals who have sought after his hand (his love interest from Omniverse, mostly). Speaking of-
•Because of all of the insanity which came from those who pined after (and objectified) him, he's decided to take a break from dating women.
•Rex is the person who Ben goes to for venting, especially when it comes to the mistreatment he receives from his coworkers and friends. Because of this, when Rex finally meets some of the people who had caused Ben such grief, he verbally anihilated them.
•Ben, seeing as he's able to fly halfway across the universe in a half hour and become intangible, often sneaks into Rex's room, whether it be for a surprise visit or just to leave a small gift.
•Ben can sing, Rex can play the guitar and sort of sing. Whenever Rex is upset, Ben Sara adds him. Whenever Rex is upset, Ben takes him out for a fly, ride, or hike.
•When Ben finally introduced Rex to his friends and is asked whether or not they're homosexuals, both Ben and Rex decline, saying that they're pan and bi respectively ("There's a difference, Kai.")
•Ben has sleep issues due to anxiety and trauma, but feels more comformatble and relaxed when around someone else with abilities and intuition akin to his own. Therefore, whenever they spend the night together, Ben passes out pretty quickly. The first time this happened, Rex awoke to Ben muttering odd little tidbits in his sleep, something which Rex found absolutely adorable...until he realized how hard it was to fall asleep with someone saying hilariously silly things directly next to one's ear.
•About a month into the relationship, Rex and Ben adopted a young dog from a pound, said dog grew enormous and became the "king of cuddles". Upon first seeing this dog, Rook believed the dog to be an 'experiment gone wrong' by the hands of Animo.
•Nearly all of their dates occur in Rex's realm, as Ben is more mobile.
•Ben talks and hums in his sleep, Rex drones our random computer-language. It is a very weird thing to walk in on.
•Rex is very flirtatious after their relationship has become comfortable (in the beginning, they were awkward and tentative). Ben is rather coy.
•Although Ben has more sleep issues than Rex, both are subject to recurring nightmares.
•Dr. Holiday and Six had known before the boys began dating that they were both interested in each other, to Ben's parents it came as a far larger shock. Ben's mom doesn't care and is supportive, his dad believes it a faze, and is a bit crossed with Rex.
