From the pages of Girl's Detective Mystery, October 1936. An obscure one-shot pulp that tried to be a monthly publication for a Nancy Drew like detective called Betty Baker is one of the early examples of comic book-like storytelling.

Along with one page gag comics, they also had Sorority Sal of Wellmoor by Ed Hart (two pages) and Singapore Sam by Stookie Allen  (Benjamin Allen) (six pages.)
