Speaking of presidential elections, Ben and Devi would totally be the popular picks for the Democratic party but Devi would be more progressive than Ben and edge him out. Then Devi would choose Ben as her running mate and they would have a controversial affair that would ultimately capture the hearts of young people and win them the election.
Do you have any cool Ben headcanons? 💕 maybe for Hannukah since that's ongoing! (Happy Hannukah btw I hope you're having a great one!)
First of all, thank you lovely!
Okay so i have given it some thoughts and here are some Ben Gross Hunnukka headcanons for you and the rest of the internet to love, hate and disscuss about.
• Although it doesn't seems lile Ben is a religious Jew by any means, and despite the neglaction from his parents, if the three of them are at home during the holidays time they will light up the menorha together. It only happend 4 times in Ben's life, the rest of it so far his parents went on vacation.
• Every year Ben's parents buy the most fancy Sufganiot that they can find in the best bakery in entire California. Despite that, Ben and Patty lerned how to make Sufganiot together when Ben was 9 and ever since than that's one of the few things he really likes to cook and eat. Same goes to Lattkes.
• Ben always got sad thinking about Hanukka at the start of it because Hannukkka is alsi about family. So it's just another holiday where he feels extreme lonelinesd.
• Back when Shira and him used to date Ben loved going to Shira's because her whole family was celebreting and despite being annoyed by her from time to time and hate singing after lighting the menorha he loved the feeling of celebrating it together
• Howard got him a golden driddle when he was a child.
Where do you think Ben's arc will go in season 4? What do you want to see for him next season?
Okay this is pretty tough. If I know any better, I'd say learning to let himself feel his feelings would be a good arc. He just started to chill down about academics. He's started to mend things with his dad. Him telling Devi he'll miss her and that boink was a huge leap. Not counting the Benvi endgame, coz I do wanna see him as his own character, and also not knowing what's actually in store for S4,I think my preferred arc for him would be, I'd say him allowing to be hurt and maybe forgive himself if he hurt someone unintentionally when he is confronted about it, that is if the writers are gonna put him in a triangle between Devi & Margot, and him inadvertently hurting Margo in some way even if he didn't mean to and him having to come to terms with it, would be a nice arc. Also maybe stick it up to his mom and confront her parental neglect.
Basically Ben allowing himself be human, feel his feelings, stand up for himself and have a healthy relationships with himself and not be a robot like he's been all his life.
This is what I think.
I hope I have worded all those correctly. I'll clarify anything and everything if needed
been a minute since i posted some never have i ever meta, but i have thoughts on two characters that are never shown onscreen and yet live rent-free in my mind.
"As far as friends go, up through middle school, Ben had two solid ride-or-dies. There was Brian Lakestone, who got dropped off at school on a motorcycle, and Garret Von Keanel, who could burp the theme song to Game of Thrones."
like...what happened to those two? i get that we'll probably never hear from them ever and that the intent here was probably to echo the weirdness of Fabiola and Eleanor, but the thing with Fabiola and Eleanor is that they are (or at least are meant to be) super loyal to Devi; and Fabiola and Eleanor meant to stay friends even if Devi went to India. Ben intended to date Devi even if she went to India, and I'm certain he must've been ride-or-die for his friends as they were for him, if not more (and he must have had access to transportation). so...what happened??
and their character descriptions, as silly as they are, intrigue me. Brian Lakestone seems to have both the coolness Ben probably wished he could have and a hint of an unconventional parental relationship that Ben might be able to relate to or be envious of. (and if Ben does end up becoming friends with Paxton in the future, perhaps there's a parallel to be made with this cool-as-a-cucumber former friend?)
Garret Von Keanel, on the other hand, sounds German, and potentially very posh--and then we see his picture, wherein he'd scrawled on his own face with a black marker. exchange student perhaps? son of a family friend? he's the one, at least, that wasn't afraid to look ridiculous.
BOTH of this makes for an interesting dynamic! Cool, standoffish kid + class clown + one of the smartest kids in the grade? That's one heck of a trio.
Most of the fics (the very few they're in) choose to give them a pretty crummy relationship from the beginning, and I understand that; if their friendships were worthwhile, they would be more than throwaway mentions in season 1.
but there is still a part of me that hopes that ben wasn't always completely the loneliest boy in the world, and i think it does kinda make for a more compelling story if they did care about him.
my personal headcanon is that all of them started their new high schools of the adolescent idea of 'complete new starts' coupled with the stupid teenage boy mistake of underestimating how much they meant to each other, and then over time all of them got too embarrassed to actually reach out because of the fear of being too pathetic. lowkey hope that they find they find their way back to each other as friends someday :P
lol... Well I absolutely like lonely, broken nerds (That's my type 😂)... So I will support Ben x Devi... Though, Paxton is a good guy too... Season 2 plz 😭😭😭
