New York Film Academy Supports Braille Institute of America
The New York Film Academy is proud to announce our support of the 2012 Cinema Without Sight (CWS) film festival, sponsored by Braille Institute of America, Inc. Cinema Without Sight is a unique film festival specifically designed for visually impaired students in grades 7-12. It challenges participants to apply their creativity and shepherd a film concept from script to screen. The goal of the program is to enable students to contribute their own unique perspective to society, thereby demonstrating how well they are able to interpret and engage in visual media.
Comments New York Film Academy Head of High School Programs Benjamin Morgan, "New York Film Academy has worked with vision-impaired students in the past and have been amazed by their creativity. We are tremendously excited to support the Braille Institute and their Cinema Without Sight Film Festival. Everyone has a story to tell and we are thrilled to support the winner of 2012's festival." The winner of the competition will be awarded a one week scholarship to study at New York Film Academy's award-winning, hands-on summer camp in Los Angeles - Universal Studios.
Braille Institute's mission is to eliminate barriers to a fulfilling life caused by blindness and severe sight loss. All of the organization's programs and services are offered free of charge. For more information about Braille Institute of America, please click here (link) www.brailleinstitute.org.
