The timing couldn’t have been less ideal. Almost right after Barty asked Benjy to be his boyfriend, he gets whisked away by the Prophet for work across the seas. Barty understood why he had to go. Work was work. But that didn’t stop him from sulking for a few days after finding out. When the time Benjy had to leave, however, Barty was there to give him a farewell kiss.
Days before Benjy got back, Barty managed to convince Félix into letting him organize a little surprise. It wasn’t going to be big. It will literally just be the three of them. But with a little magic, he transformed their home into something that made it a little cozier. With conjured blankets and pillows all over the room, he transformed the flat into a giant fort. All while snacks laid abundant at the dining table.
Félix chose the unfortunate time to buy some ice cream. Barty was alone in the flat, waiting for his boyfriend’s roommate to come back when the door handle finally turned. It was too soon for Félix to return, so it could have only been one other person. Barty stood up from the couch and waited for Benjy to see him. When his boyfriend finally did, Barty smiled wide and greeted him with a kiss. “Welcome back.”
