“I imagine you miss your family and friends back in Yorktown,” said Felicity. “And I’m sure they miss you, too. If I loved someone, I could never let him go away from me. I would be too miserable and lonely.” She glanced over at Ben. Maybe he was lonely. “You’ll be happier here when you have some friends,” she said.

“Aye,” said Ben. And he hid his face behind the sack of oats again.

This one is so soft! Lovely nostalgic mix of movie clips and book illustrations, set to instrumental music. Honestly, the graininess adds to it.

Felicity spoke up. “Oh, Annabelle! It was only a bit of fun,” she said.

“Fun?” snorted Annabelle. “You have no manners! I shall tell Mama what you’ve done. We shall see if she thinks it is fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if she tells Bitsy never to speak to you again!”

Felicity was not afraid of Annabelle. “If you tell your mother,” she said coolly, “I will tell Ben you are sweet on him.”

“Oh!” sputtered Annabelle. “Oh!” She glared at Felicity. “You…you uncivilized brat!” She stormed from the room.
