The summer break is (almost) there:
Almost all League rest – except in Italy and a few other countries.
How did the German footballers have done in the foreign Leagues? Many gave strong performances, but only Marc – André ter Stegen became Master. And the ex-Gladbach can do more with Barcelona: He still is in the Champions League and in the Cup-Finale.
Mesut Özil and Per Mertesacker want to get the FA Cup with Arsenal FC.
Toni Kroos (25/ Real Madrid)
Although Real has no title, the German World Champion played a strong debut season in Madrid. In the league, the Cup and the Champions League, he played 55th times. Only two goals but 12 assists. He is one undisputed Key Player.
Sami Khedira (28/Real Madrid)
The World champion is no longer on demand at Real Madrid. Khedira’s Contract runs out at the end of this season, he will leave the club. Again and again he was injured and had only 669 Minutes of play in three competitions of 17 appearances. In the starting XI of the League: Only three times.
Shkodan Mustafi (23/Valencia)
The new signing from Genoa developed in Valencia to a team regular in the central defense. In 33 Games he scored four goals, secured his club a place in the Champions League qualifiers.
Marc-André ter Stegen (23/FC Barcelona)
He wears the number 1 in the new Spanish champions, stayed in the Primera Division but without Playing Time. But the former Gladbach-Goalkeeper was a regular in the Champions League and in the Copa del Rey. And there are still two Finales with Barca for ter Stegen and he can bring two more titles. His chances in the next season to become the number 1 are good.
Miroslav Klose (36/Lazio)
Klose’s contract runs out in Rome, and it’s still an open question whether the world champion takes the option for a further year. Even a return to the Bundesliga is an option. The Striker has in the ongoing Season played 32 games and scored 12 goals. Today and next weekend are still two games with Lazio (against AS Roma and Naples).
Mario Gomez (29/Fiorentina)
It was not an easy Season for the German striker, 20 games and only four goals in Serie A. Because of that it rained a lot of criticsm. Florence wants to sell Gomez as it seems.
Lukas Podolski (30/Inter and Arsenal)
No happy season for the World Champion. On Loan at Inter Milan from Arsenal FC, the World Champion didn’t find his way in Italy. Before the final round the balance sheet looks sad: 16 appearances in Serie A, just one Goal. Played only one time through 90 minutes.
Mesut Özil (26/Arsenal FC)
Came through a lengthy injury in the first round only on 22 league appearances and four goals. Achieved with the Gunners, the Champions League and can still win the FA Cup next Week.
Per Mertesacker (31/Arsenal FC)
The world champion has defended his place in the starting XI, came in all competitions to 47 times and a hit in the FA Cup, which he still can win against Aston Villa on May 30th.
Serge Gnabry (31/Arsenal FC)
After last season, his star did rise at Arsenal but this Season the German youth international is without playtime with the Profi-Team. One reason: persistent problems with his knee.
Robert Huth (30/Leicester City)
Fell due to an injury time out, was therefore loaned to Leicester City from Stoke City. The Man from Berlin hit there full, led the club with strong performances for relegation in the Premier League. 14 missions, a Goal is his Balance sheet. His Contract at Stoke City runs until 2016
Philipp Wollscheid (26/Stoke City)
Borrowed from Leverkusen this Winter, Wollscheid was sat right away at Stoke in 12 Games in the Premier League. The Potters now pulled the purchase option, the former Bundesliga player gets a contract for three years.
Emre Can (21/Liverpool)
He went in the second half up to a regular for the Reds. Shot in the league 1 goal in 27 Games, played in the Champions League. Is already in the books of Jogi Löw.
Gerhard Tremmel (36/Swansea City)
Plays for the Welsh since 2011, is the number 2 in the Goal. Played 2 times in Premier League, 1 time in FA Cup and 3 times in League Cup, shot 3 goals in all of those. His Contract runs out and he will leave Swansea at the end of the season.
Marko Marin (26/RSC Anderlecht)
The Around-transferred. The former Bremer, who still is one of Chelsea, is on a never-ending Loan-Odyssey. After Seville and Florence he last landed in Anderlecht. Couldn’t put a foot down there (only ten appearance in Jupiler Pro League and Europa League). Possible Renewed Loan from Chelsea likely.
Kevin Kuranyi (33/Dinamo Moskau)
Farewell from Russia! After 5 years, Kuranyi leaves Dinamo Moskau (10 Goals in 23 League-Games this Season). Where he is heading, is still open. A game day also is pending. A return to the Bundesliga is his goal.
Patrick Ebert (28/Spartak Moscow)
Former Hertha moved from Real Valladolid to Spartak Moscow in February 2014. His season record in the Russian Premier League: 17 appearances, 4 assists.
Benny Lauth (33/Ferencvaros Budapest)
The Ex-Lion (1860) found his way to Hungary. There, the striker shot six goals in 22 games this season, plus 3 assists that leads to a goal. Lauth and Ferencvaros have one game left in this season to qualify for the Europa League.
