Summary: Dean Winchester , feeling the weight of allowing an angel to possess his brother's body without permission, heads off to New Orleans in the hopes of working out another problem instead of the one sitting back home.
Benny Lafitte is a local rootworker carrying the knowledge passed down to him from his mother, whom the local community of New Orleans trusted with their lives.
The Boucher Plantation is haunted by the darkness of a bloody history and the malevolence of spirits that refuse to let go; now a classy hotel, it is the site of the newest murder of two young college students, but it is far from the first, nor will it be the last.
Both men meet under circumstances that would be embarrassing if the specter of the Boucher Plantation didn’t loom so large, and both team up in an attempt to rid the plantation of ghosts that have haunted its grounds since the 18th century.
Lush lips point towards the aspirin and water on the table, features schooled and relaxed. “It ain’t gonna bite.”
Dean just nods, reaching until his hands settled around the cup with a shaking grip, popping at least two of the little white pills and guzzling down about half of the glass.
Satisfied, the man pushes off the entrance to the living room and sits in a rocking chair, one leg crossed over the other. “You feel sick at all?”
Dean sniffs, squeezing his eyes tight. “What do you think?”
“I think you’re an idiot for getting blackout drunk without havin’ anybody around to carry your ass, that’s what I think.” The tone, leaking with unimpressed displeasure, was so like Sam Dean couldn’t help but laugh. “Not like I did it on purpose, man.”
“Mm, someone held ya at gunpoint, did they?”
Okay, maybe Dean deserved the verbal lashing; after all, it was only because of this man that he had a safe place to sleep and didn’t end up in a gutter somewhere, or chained up in some psycho’s basement. On the other hand, Winchesters weren’t exactly known for taking everything in stride.
