Benny leans against the wall outside of the pub, cigarette dangling from the aforementioned fuckin’ mouth, a scowl twisting the corners of his lips down as Johnny stands in front of him. He can feel the irritation radiating off of the man as much as he can smell the whiskey on his breath, and the combination settles hot and uncertain in his stomach.

“Tryin’a talk yourself into fights with my guys, makin’ me step in when you’re not even s’posed to be at these meetings,” Johnny continues on. “You forget why I keep you ‘round?”
