For the anon asking about space/Galaxy lighting. I'm not a lighting expert, but my school created a galaxy/night sky effect for Anything Can Happen when we did Mary Poppins. We used the scrim to add depth to the star/galaxy gobos which were white/light gel colors and projections. We ended up cutting the scrim because it got in the way, but the gobos and projections sold it. Using layered transparent/sheer drops and projections could work, but it would need to line up with the set design
Lights and set do a lot of the grunt work in quickly building the scene and selling the ideas in the piece. You should try and collaborate as much as you are able, if you have a set designer working with you.
