Yennayer
One other one I know I missed was Yennayer, which takes place around 12 January. It celebrates the Berber agricultural calendar, as used by the Berbers of North Africa. In Algeria Yennayer on 12 January is a national holiday. It is also celebrated in Morocco, Tunisia, Libya and teh Canary Islands. With hearty foods to stave of famine, weddings and first haircuts for boys for good luck.
This year we are currently in is 2967, which will come to an end on 11 Jan.
Happy New Year, for then.
