#nowdrinking #BereCider’s #KingstonBlack #RealCider [6.75%] from Bere, Aller, Somerset, in the new gaff, hence the different tiles! 👁 Beautifully clear and pale gold in colour, but you can probably see that from the photos. After an initial head forming froth there’s virtually no fizz at all which is fine by me. 👃 Kinda musty, brown sugar aroma with straw and a hint of farmyard funk, but it’s a very clean farmyard compared to some. 👅 The carbonation I wrote off earlier seems to come back from the dead once the first swig hits your tongue. It’s surprisingly medium sweet and quite crisp at first, but then comes the deeper, richer more earthy flavours that I want. It’s like wet mulch meets caramelised sugar with a hint of spice thrown in for good measure. I enjoyed this with a nice Chicken Rogan Josh from the curry house up the road and although I should probably have gone for something more acidic, the tannic twists of this Somerset beauty worked for me. Yup! Bere Cider’s Kingston Black is a decent drop which is well balanced and showcases the flavours that the KB apple has to give fantastically, you should definitely try it. It easily scores a 9/10 from me. https://www.instagram.com/p/CTcwpHLKzD9/?utm_medium=tumblr
