Commission of Berecien from @virgil134‘s fic Casting Off!
Berecien
Full Name: Berecien, natch.Gender and Sexuality: Male, hetero.Pronouns: Of the “he” variety.Ethnicity/Species: Ponyta; Rapidash stage. Suocéan pureblood, specifically bred to be a racing Pokémon.Birthplace and Birthdate: Mezze (not Mezzo!) Estate, Suocé, 8~12 yr before G1.Guilty Pleasures: Bartering for varieties of berries and herbs that he can not always get from his nutritionist-mandated food regime.Phobias: Really loud noises. Probably claustrophobia but I’m still not sure if that would make sense. What They Would Be Famous For: #1 fastest Rapidash and trained mon on the land. #2 or #3 fastest known Suocé Pokémon period. And being, on a technicality, the richest Trained Pokémon. What They Would Get Arrested For: Challenging authority. Responding badly to provocations, and burning and melting stuff on the way. Also, going too fast - but you do have to manage to catch up to him to arrest him, hmmm?.OC You Ship Them With: Eltenios I mean sorry can you repeat the question?OC Most Likely To Murder Them: Honestly dunno. Tephros is the only other sports-competitive one and is also Fire-type so yeah… maybe. If there’s a practical motive that can put them one against the other.Favorite Movie/Book Genre: Pretty much anything Man (or Mon) Alone vs The World.Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: Money that works everywhere, medicines / antidotes that work on everything, and Translation Convention.Talents and/or Powers: Is literally the fastest Rapidash on the land and has the stamina to make good show of that when it matters, such as running across the country for an entire day or night. He’s also well cultured, deals well with humans, watches TV and has a good sense for when posing for pictures. Why Someone Might Love Them: He’s elegant and smug (thanks @virgil134 !) and would do really well at Contests. He makes a very good narrative combination with Eltenios and he also has potential for serving as a good inspirational background figure. Plus, let’s admit it, he’s a Rapidash. Why Someone Might Hate Them: Dunno… probably for not being as well developed as my other characters and for being relatively bidimensional even if part of that can be attributed to his upbringing. How They Change: He retires, makes baby, and re-learns to take his preferred activity back to the realm of hobby rather than work or chore. Why You Love Them: You know your characters are good when people ask to read more of them, or when other authors ask you permission to take their own shot at them based around their character concept. They are, down the line, narrative investment that has paid up very well.
