Today's 2019 #Transbaviaans Repeat was supposed to be an (ever so slightly) more relaxed version of the 'world's toughest single-stage #mtb race' . It seems, however, that the @ecobound_adventures crew forgot to share this info with the riders cracking the whip along the rugged 230km via #baviaanskloof ... Merciless headwinds resulted in some jockeying for position on a grey and overcast day, with rain & single-figure temperature atop #Bergplaas, but by midday conditions began to clear a bit. #DieOom decided to go play in the primeval #Poortjie Forests, and what a blast it was 🙌🏻😊👌 The leading bunch cranked through #Langwater at pace, and banged via the midway CP just on 3pm. This set them up for a 9h25min finish at #FountainsMall in #jeffreysbay, with Team #UncleFish taking the honours in 9h25min. Mixed Category went to Team #CycloPro, with a surging ride by @traceyannecampbell, @brucecampbell87 and Jay Carneiro. Top position in the women's field went to Team #Sumeil.
